Robert Alai, Kileleshwa MCA, has issued a direct warning to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) politicians seeking to blackmail President William Ruto over his 2027 re-election bid.
Alai shared on his social platform that he refuted recent assertions made by some ODM leaders on social media that the ruling UDA party would support the opposition group past 2025.
He criticized those propagating the story of using 2027 as leverage for personal political bargaining and denounced what he called attempts to “arm-twist” President William Ruto.
The call follows the Kasipul Constituency by-election, in which ODM candidate Boyd Were won with support from UDA leadership. Some party loyalists interpreted that support as evidence of a broader alliance.

But Alai rejected that interpretation outright. “Currently, there is NO DEAL between UDA and ODM for 2027,” he declared. He claimed that tactical cooperation at the by-election level does not equate to a long-term agreement, especially one unrelated to the national polls in 2027.
Alai accused some ODM members of trying to blackmail President Ruto by claiming there was a legally binding alliance in a harsh social media speech.
In reference to the former government coalition structure, he declared, “Let no one come here and lie to you that they are in the broad-based.”
Additionally, he urged ODM to establish the credibility of its internal leadership before making broad coalition claims, implying that some members lacked the power to negotiate on behalf of the party as a whole.
