Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has taken to a social media account to mourn the death of the ally.
In a condolences message to the family, Gachagua has asked God to remember the family during these hard times as they prepare to lay their Loved one to rest.
Gachagua has hailed former Laikipia North member of Parliament Honorable Mathew Lempurkel as a visionary leader who was determined to change the economic status of his people. He stated that, he was a DCP party member who was planning to vie on the party in the 2027 general election.
The late mp dumped the United Democratic party and joined democracy for the citizens party early this year. He even visited Gachagua at the Wamunyoro family home. A meeting that was highly publicized as a Master plan for DCP party to takeover laikipia County.

I have learnt of the untimely passing on of Hon. Mathew Lempurkel with a heavy heart.
Hon. Lempurkel was a member of the DCP PARTY and former Member of Parliament for Laikipia North.
May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may Almighty God grant strength, comfort, and fortitude to his family, loved ones, and all who cherished him during this moment of grief. My deepest sympathies to you all.
