The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), which is led by Siaya Senator Oburu Odinga, has reaffirmed that it will continue to collaborate with President William Ruto’s administration. According to Siaya Senator Oburu Odinga, who dismissed reports that the party might split following the passing of its former leader.
The senator made his first major public appearance since his arrival from Dubai on November 29, 2025, at a significant wedding event in Garissa County, which President Ruto also attended.
“When Raila left us, he left us in the broad-based government, and we will continue with that,” Oburu declared.
While ODM may choose to run a presidential candidate in 2027, the party’s current top priority is to continue working with the current administration, he added.
We will work with the President until the end. The end of the term is 2027.”
Oburu also pointed to ODM’s recent victories in parliamentary by-elections as proof of the broad-based government’s continued strength and power.

He denied the rumors that ODM may depart the broad-based government. He maintained that internal affairs attempting to create division would not interfere with the party’s continued rule.
However, he clarified that ODM has not chosen whether to back President Ruto’s 2027 reelection or not. He added that how the government will treat the ODM members and its handling of national issues will determine that decision.
