Orange democratic Party Secretary general Senator Edwin Sifuna made explosive comments during his interview with Yvonne Matole Okwara on citizen TV.
During the interview, the vibrant leader distanced himself from the debate that ODM will support President William Ruto’s re-election in the 2027 general election.
Sifuna went to an extent to declare that, he will resign if the party will take that route of supporting Ruto in the election. Well, the party has finally spoken on the matter and his removal.

Speaking to the Media today on July 23, 2025. Orange democratic Party CEO Oduor Ongwen has dismissed claims that Edwin Sifuna will be removed from the party position after the interview.
Instead, Ongwen has maintained that Sifuna is the official party spokesperson and for that, what he communicates is the position of the party. However, he also clarified that as an individual, Nairobi Senator has rights to present his personal opinion to the general public and trust should not be confused.
On Sifuna’s removal form office, the ODM party CEO stated that, he does not have any official petition filled for the removal of Sifuna as the parry secretary general. He promised to make it public if any is forwarded to him and if it happens, everything will be done as per the constitution of the party.
