Nandi County senator Samson Cherargei is one man who is currently trending in Kenya. His motion to extend elective term limits from five years to seven years has elicited mixed reactions online.
If the term will be extended, President William Ruto will serve for 14 years under a new constitution. Former President Uhuru Kenyatta Served only ten years as per the 2010 constitution which was made during the late President Mwai Kibaki reign.
Well, the Orange democratic Party has issued a statement on the issue. According to them, they will only support extension of elective positions, which will see Ruto rule for 14 years under one condition.
They have demanded that the process must be only under a referendum for them to support it.
