President William Ruto and his allies are currently making inroads in Mount Kenya region. A region that was once his ‘home’ but now changed after the impeachment of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Prior to the 2022 general election, the President of the republic of Kenya visited Mount Kenya on a weekly basis. However, it has taken him six months to pitch his tent in the central region.
Well, in what has been termed a development tour, the president was joined by Nyeri county governor who is a close ally of Gachagua. In his speech, he indicated that he was willing to respect and work with the government of the day. Things have changed dramatically leaving Kenyans talking.

Speaking to journalists today, Mutahi Kahiga claimed that President William Ruto is not Mount Kenya region kingpin and he only joined his rally to welcome him as the area governor. He also claimed that the political temperatures have changed in the Mount Kenya region since the impeachment of Gachagua and it might never be the same again.
” I want to State here clearly that I joined the President as area governor. That should not be interpreted as joining his team. He also learned something new, things have changed here and when the right time comes, decisions will be made collectively.” Said Mutahi Kahiga.
