Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua will have to go back to the drawing board and restrategise after the latest endorsement of a possible new kingpin.
Gachagua, a man who self proclaimed to be Mount Kenya region kingpin after former President Uhuru Kenyatta retired is now under pressure. Especially now that state machinery is not under his disposal.
According to Tharaka Nithi county governor Njuke. Nyeri County governor Mutahi Kahiga is well equipped to lead Mount Kenya West. He praised Kahiga for being a visionary leader who should now get out of Nyeri and be part of the national building. He asked other leaders to support Kahiga and see the new leader achieve numerous things.
With Kahiga from Nyeri County being proposed as the new Mount Kenya West leader. It has news for Gachagua who is fighting for political survival and from the same region. If Ruto succeeds in replacing him with the governor it will be the biggest political card for him.
