Nyeri County governor Mutahi Kahiga was on the receiving end today after his photo of him in Turkana appeared online.
An Event that was officiated by President William Ruto who is currently fighting to remove his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua from office.
Gachagua who is a close ally of him and Kahiga has been on record defending a truthful man.
Well, through his social media platforms, Kahiga has been forced to clarify what really happened after he was accused of dumping Gachagua for Ruto at a time of need by accompanying President Ruto to Turkana.
Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga has clarified claims made by Mathira MP Eric Wamumbi regarding his accompanying President William Ruto in Turkana for the Tubong’u lore cultural festival.

Wamumbi, in a Facebook post, expressed gratitude to Kahiga for representing Nyeri during the President’s visit.
“Governor Mutahi Kahiga, many thanks for representing Nyeri well as you accompanied President William Samoei Ruto for a development tour in Turkana County,” Wamumbi wrote, suggesting a close collaboration between the two leaders.
In response, Kahiga took to his own Facebook page to set the record straight.
“Mheshimiwa Eric Wamumbi MP Mathira, hapa umejaribu. William Samoei Ruto alikuwa Lodwar Jana Ijumaa tarehe 25 oktoba, nami na Magavana Ahmed Abdullahi, Muthomi Njuki, na Gavana Lusaka wa Bungoma tulikuwa Lodwar Tobong’u Lore Alhamisi tarehe 24 Oktoba,” he stated.
Kahiga further noted that had he been asked by President Ruto to accompany him, he would have gladly accepted, given his role as Vice Chairman of The Council of Governors.
