Speaking at a Funeral service in Mbooni, Makueni County. Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua created a political Storm over his sentiments. According to Gachagua, Mount Kenya region should pay political debt to Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
He continued by asking Estern region leaders to put their house in order and register in massive numbers ahead of the 2027 election.

Kuria has sarcastically responded to Gachagua sentiments by asking the next person Mount Kenya region has his debt after Kalonzo.
Mathira member of Parliament Eric Wainaina also cautioned his supporters not to follow Gachagua blindly since he is only fighting for himself. He asked the people of Nyeri to remain in government for good development.
