National Assembly Speaker Honorable Moses Wetangula is fighting to maintain his political position in Bungoma County and Western region at large.
It seems like things are getting out of hand for him ahead of the Chwele-Kabichai ward by election. In the by-election, Wetangula endorsed a candidate at his Ford Kenya party. However, he is facing it rough from his former allies.
Former Governor Wycliffe Wangamati.
The former Bungoma County governor Wycliffe Wangamati who served Bungoma people from 2017-2022 and lost his seat to Kenneth Makelo Lusaka has decided that Wetangula is his primary mission.

Speaking at a Hotel in Bungoma Town, Wangamati called on Bungoma people to send Wetangula and his entire Ford Kenya team home if they wanted anything to do with development.
According to him, Wetangula is not a development oriented person and that he will not do anything meaningful if he fails to do so while in lucrative government positions.
I served you my people from 2017-2022 and you all saw the development projects I initiated. Look at the duol carriage that I brought to Bungoma. Look at the scholarship programs I initiated. I was able to do that despite the flights from Wetangula and his people. If given an opportunity again I will serve diligently.” Said Wangamati.
Wangamati continued by asking the Chwele kabuchai ward residents to vote for Eric Wekesa as their area MCA and not the Ford Kenya candidate. He termed the Ford Kenya party as a party of valance. This was after he was attacked in Chwele during the burial ceremony he attended.
