Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i is one of the opposition leaders planning to vie against President William Ruto in the 2027 general election. His target is getting the United opposition team flag bearer greenlight.
Well, while on that mission, Matiang’i has been warned about one thing that is coming for him before he even gets the coveted opposition team blessings.
According to several political analysts, the fact that former advisor in the office of Deputy President, Ngunjiri Wambugu is fighting Gachagua who is in the opposition team but still praising Matiang’i is a red flag.

For months now, Wambugu has been castigating Gachagua for allegedly trying to be Kingpin in Mount Kenya when former President Uhuru Kenyatta is still politically active and in charge of the Jubilee party.
What is shocking to many Kenyans is that Wambugu has been posting Matiang’i on his timeline claiming he is the Jubilee party’s preferred presidential candidate in the 2027 general election. At the same time, he has been seen praising President William Ruto and his Deputy Kithure Kindiki.
This move has been seen by many as a political con game and this has led to Kenyans warning Matiang’i to be careful not to associate himself with such people who might abandon him when their mission is over.
Matiang’i has been told to form his own political party and use it to negotiate for the positions with other leaders instead of going all out on the jubilee party which is already hijacked.
