For the past weeks, a section of Kenyans led by Senior Counsel Ahmednasir and former law society of Kenya Nelson Havi have been calling for the removal of Martha Koome from office. According to them, she has failed to carry out her mandate as Chief Justice of the republic of Kenya.
She has been accused of watching as corruption takes center stage in Kenyan courts. Ahmednasir through his X account, coiled a word “Juripesa” a term he has been pushing on X vigorously.
Well, Martha Koome has finally opened up on the whole issue of resignation calls. Speaking today in Nairobi, at an event organized to champion civil rights.

Koome acknowledged the attacks she is receiving online from influencers. According to her, she has termed them as digital gender based violence. She has maintained that she is not resigning and those pushing the narrative to push her from the office should try something else.
” I see spirited attacks online targeting me and other judiciary officers. I want to say this is the same as digital gender based violence. They are targeting to remove me from office. Something that will not happen. ” Said Martha Koome
