Chief Justice Martha Koome is in trouble after her remarks today on the way protesters are being handled at the judiciary department.
For days now, Kenyans have been lamenting on how Protesters were being treated after arrest. Several Kenyans have been charged in court of law with terrorism with high bonds.
Speaking on the same issue, the interior Cabinet Secretary defended the court system maintaining that those charged are criminals and that should be left to face full Force of the law. He went ahead to cite Koome remarks while in Kiambu county.

During Saba Saba protests. A law court in Kiambu county was burnt by unknown people who are still under the police radar. Visiting the premises, Koome claimed that by burning the court, it was a sign of terrorism.
His remarks sparked mixed reactions online with Kenyans calling for her resignation. Well, in a letter sent to the general public today, she has claimed that her sentiments were taken out of context and that she did not mean what is being insinuated. She asked judiciary officials to act according to the law and evidence provided.
Well, Nelson Havi has fired a warning to her over her speech. According to Havi, as the chief justice of the republic of Kenya, she should not respond publicly to the matter which is before the courts.
“C J Martha Koome, as Chief Justice and head of the Judiciary, it is advisable that you avoid commenting on matters pending in Court. Just listen for once and save the legal fraternity unnecessary embarrassment.” Posted Nelson Havi.
