The legislative arm of the government is not happy at all. Since the devolution conference where the President called members out for demanding for bribes to act, things have not been the same.
The legislators yesterday, August 19, 2025 took their time to discuss the Remarks made by President William Ruto on one of them taking 10 million bribes in order to vote on the bill.
Well, Kimani Ichung’wah has come out to set the record straight on a plan to impeach President William Ruto over his remarks.
Responding to an article done by Tuko News which had highlighted how Ichung’wah had earlier on told legislators not to fear anyone while performing their duties. And that, they have powers to even impeach the President without facing any repercussions.

The national assembly Majority leader has dismissed that article calling it fake news. He has gone ahead to set the record straight by insisting that, there is no plan to impeach the President and that, the President is the party leader who is respected and his views on all issues respected by members.
Here Is Kimani Ichung’wah Statement As Posted On Facebook Page.
IGNORE all these FAKE NEWS from gutter press designed to generate following for their githeri media outfits.
Whileas the Constitution gives Parliament immense powers as the legislature, we DO NOT threaten anybody leave alone the President who is our team leader.
We work independently but with complimentary roles to deliver on our agenda.
That is what we are focused on and respect William Samoei Ruto not just as the President but also as our team leader.
As President he has every right to state his views on any subject including the work of the legislature and call out what he may think needs to be rectified. That is the role he plays as President. We respect that as much as we appreciate our role in oversight of the other arms of Government. As a legislature, we also recognise the need to uphold the dignity and integrity of the institution of Parliament as the President has stated.
NOW, this gutter media can’t interpret that. They look for what will sell their online tabloids.
