National Assembly majority leader Honerable Kimani Ichungwah has changed his tune on Raila Odinga. Prior to 2022 election, Ichungwah thrashed Raila together with Azimio leaders.
He termed them as a threat to national economy for allegedly looting the country together with retired President Uhuru Kenyatta. Ichungwah went on to defend President William Ruto who was then Uhuru’s deputy until he was elected President.
Well, it seems like things have changed quickly since the formation of broad based government. Speaking In Kisumu county , Ichungwah vowed to defend Odinga at all cost. He went ahead to say that, anyone who will try to attack Odinga will have to go through him first. He continued by thanking Odinga for choosing the country over his personal gains.
” Watu wa Kisumu hamjambo? ( Residents of Kisumu how are you) Today I want to thank the president for working with Raila. I’m also ready to work with him and I will defend him from today going forward.” Said Ichungwah amidst cheers.

President William Ruto appointed Raila Odinga allies to his cabinet in attempt to stop protests. It seems like his move paid off. He is currently enjoying a warm welcome from Nyanza people who stoned his entourage few years ago.
