He expected the United Democratic party to issue a direct nomination to Ryan Injendi who was the favourite candidate in the race. Instead, the UDA Party decided to go with Ndakwa who was already an elected member of the Kakamega County assembly.
Khalwale claimed that the decision angered Malava people since in Nyanza, he awarded the wife of the late member of Parliament Dalmus Otieno a government job, in Baringo he appointed the wife to the late senator a Cabinet Secretary position. But in Malava, the wife to the late legislator Is still waiting for an opportunity to be appointed.
He also took his time to attack Farouk Kibet calling him out for disrespecting him. The person who tirelessly campaigned for the United Democratic party in the Western region.
