Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has announced a sweeping reshuffle affecting ten county chief officers in a move aimed at strengthening service delivery across the capital.
The changes, announced on Wednesday, November 18, take effect immediately in accordance with Section 45(5) of the County Government Act, 2012.
In the notice signed by the governor, several officers were reassigned to new portfolios, with some swaps affecting key departments.
Godfrey Akumali, who previously served in the Business and Hustler Opportunities docket, has been transferred to the Housing and Urban Renewal department. Tony Michale Kimani, formerly in charge of Social Services, will now head the Social Services and Estate Management sector.
Sakaja also reassigned Sande Oyolo from the Digital Economy and Startups docket to the Medical Facilities department, while Lydia Mathia moved from Housing and Urban Renewal to the Business and Hustler Opportunities sector.
Significant changes were also recorded in the Smart Nairobi sector, with Wilson Gakuya taking charge of Digital Economy and Startups.

Mache Waikenda, who served in the Mobility sector, has been transferred to Mobility and AG ICT Infrastructure. Clement Rapudo will now oversee the Smart Nairobi docket, moving from Culture, Arts, and Tourism.
Zipporah Mwangi has been moved from Citizen Engagement and Customer Service to the City Culture, Arts, and Tourism docket.
One of the most notable shifts involves Geoffrey Mosiria, who previously served as Chief Officer for Environment. Regarded as one of the most influential officers due to his firm handling of environmental issues, Mosiria has been reassigned to Citizen Engagement and Customer Service considered a less influential portfolio.
His former position will now be occupied by Hibrahim Otieno, who previously headed the Medical Facilities docket.
Governor Sakaja’s latest reshuffle underscores his ongoing effort to realign county departments for what he terms improved efficiency and accountability.
