Kenyans have been thrown into mourning following the announcement of the passing on of Orange democratic Party leader Honorable Raila Odinga.
Raila travelled to India with his family members for a routine check-up where he was admitted. According to his brother Odinga Oburu, he was handled well and was on a journey to recovery.
According to the information from India, Raila Odinga arrived there six days ago for treament after feeling unwell.

He was welcomed by the medical team which was taking care of him. Unfortunately, he suffered a heart attack today on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 while taking a walk in India.
He was quickly rushed to the hospital where Doctors tried to revive him but unfortunately lost him. May his soul rest in eternal Peace.
Statement From Hospital Where He Was Receiving Treatment.
Former Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga has passed away at the age of 80. He died in Koothattukulam, Ernakulam district. Odinga suffered a heart attack during his morning walk. He was rushed to Sreedhareeyam Hospital for treatment.
Raila Odinga, who had a long-standing association with Sreedhareeyam, had arrived in Koothattukulam six days ago for treatment. When he experienced health complications, he was immediately taken to Deva Matha Hospital in Koothattukulam, but efforts to save his life were unsuccessful.
His daughter and other family members were with him at the time. Decisions regarding the repatriation of Odinga’s body to his home country will be made by the embassies of both nations.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had previously mentioned Odinga’s visits to Koothattukulam for treatment in one of his Mann Ki Baat addresses.
