Isiolo South Member of Parliament, Tubi Bidu Mohamed, has passed away while receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital, the National Assembly announced on Wednesday evening.
Speaker Moses Wetang’ula broke the news to MPs, expressing deep sorrow over the untimely demise of the first-term legislator. Wetang’ula described Tubi as a committed and selfless leader whose contributions to public service will be remembered for years to come.
“The late Hon. Tubi was a dedicated public servant who made a positive impact on the nation. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, constituents, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him,” Speaker Wetang’ula said in his condolence message.
The fallen MP was serving his first term in Parliament after being elected in the 2022 General Election.

He was a member of both the Departmental Committee on Environment, Forestry and Mining and the Public Petitions Committee, where he was known for his active engagement and commitment to the welfare of his constituents.
Before his election to the National Assembly, Tubi served as the inaugural Speaker of the Isiolo County Assembly, a role he held until 2017. His leadership at the county level earned him respect for his firm stance on governance and community development.
Messages of condolence have continued to pour in from political leaders and the Isiolo community, who have described him as a humble and visionary leader dedicated to uplifting the lives of his people.
Plans for his burial and memorial service are expected to be announced by the family and the Parliamentary Service Commission in due course.
