Judges handling Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua Impeachment case are under fire. The attorneys allied to Gachagua have been asking them to rescue themselves over petitions filled against them.
On October 22, 2024, the defence team asked Judges to leave due to an unconstitutional constitution of their bench. They claimed it was against the law for Deputy Chief Justice to constitute a bench when Chief Justice is available.

The attorneys representing Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua have noted something of concern in the case. According to them, Justice Ogolla’s wife was appointed by President William Ruto to Water Tower board. To them, that is a conflict of interest that warrants his rescue.
On the other hand, Justice Mrima has landed in trouble with a Facebook post made by Senate Speaker Amason Kingi. According to the lawyers, Kingi who is a person of interest in the case visited the judge during his wedding. He Presented gifts and even made it public about their relationship. The attorneys are asking him to leave the bench.
