The debate on extension of Presidential term limits and that of all other elected leaders from five years to seven years has elicited mixed reactions.
A motion Which was backed by Nandi county senator Cherargei has been rejected heavily by Kenyans who were asked to share views.
They camped at the senate email address jamming it with a clear message ” we don’t want any extension” and some even went ahead to ask for a reduction of years.
Well, former United Democratic Party Chair Johnson Muthama has issued a statement on increasing term limits.
“When Kenyans voted for the 2010 Constitution, they made it clear how they wanted to be governed and established term limits for those in power. Anyone attempting to change what Kenyans believed in is acting out of self-interest and should abandon the idea, as Kenyans will resist. Therefore, I strongly oppose any move to interfere with the will of the people.” Posted Muthama.
