A few months ago, President William Ruto dissolved his cabinet and appointed other people. He also reappointed other cabinet Secretaries who were previously serving in his cabinet that he dismissed after youth protests.
The main reason for forming a broad based government was to quell the protests and embrace national unity. Those appointed were also tasked with a mandate to help him deliver his manifesto. Well, one of his CS has shocked Kenyans by publicly declaring it is his time to eat.
Speaking in Vihiga county during the funeral of former National Assembly speaker Kenneth Marende. Comparatives Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya stated that it is time for him to eat and share what remains with his people.
He spoke this while responding to former defence cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa who had asked him to tell President William Ruto not to overtax Kenyans. He had cautioned him for reintroducing the 2024 finance bill.
“Mutu akiwa na peremende Kwa mdomo anaweza ongea Kweli? SI wawache hata Mimi nikule kidogo Kisha yenye inabaki ni patie Hawa watu wangu kidogo?” Said Operanya amid cheers from his followers in Vihiga.
In the same meeting, Kalonzo Musyoka asked the inspector general of Police to deliver justice to the families of those who lost their loved ones. He has asked him to name any officer who might have taken part in the killing and abduction of Kenyans during protests.
