It Seems like the 2027 general election is going to be more competitive than it was expected. Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has finally declared his intention to run for the top seat come 2027.
Speaking during an interview with a local media station, Gachagua made it clear that the court cases will not stop him from running for the top seat in the country. He explained how he is going to achieve that.
In a video widely shared online, Gachagua claimed that, he will fight his trial to the supreme court and this will allow him to run for the top seat.
According to him, even members of Parliament like Major Waluke who was sentenced to many years in prison were allowed to run for the Sirisya parliamentary seat and won. To him this is a good indication that he will be allowed to vie too in the 2027 general election.
