Two months after the passing of the late Orange democratic Party leader Honorable Raila Odinga. The ODM party has been struggling to hold the base with leaders from different factions charting their own way.
Those who joined the cabinet under the broad based government have been claiming that the party will support President William Ruto’s re-election in the 2027 general election.
Another faction within the ODM party has been calling for reevaluation of the agreement before making any decision. Well, Ruth Odinga has come out with new demands.
Speaking at the funeral of the late Mayienga FM presenter who rested a few days ago. Ruth Odinga claimed that they are not contended with just two slots in the cabinet. For them to support the re-election, they must be assured of more slots in the cabinet and more principal secretaries positions. She asked those who are claiming that ODM party will automatically support Ruto to hold their horses now and allow people to negotiate.
She continued by insisting that the party unity is the only thing that will allow for a good negotiations on the table. Therefore, it is important for them to remain United and have a strong voice on the negotiation table.
