President William Ruto has appointed some leaders back to his cabinet. The new released realignment has sparked mixed reactions among Kenyans. The new arrivals in the cabinet allied to former President Uhuru Kenyatta campaigned against Ruto in the 2022 general election.
What has fuelled more speculation is the timing of the cabinet reshuffling. It is coming just weeks after former presidents Uhuru Kenyatta and Ruto held a meeting in Kiambu County.
Former health Cabinet Secretary Honorable Mutahi Kagwe, former Nakuru County governor Lee Kinyamjui has been appointed to the cabinet.

The due supported Orange democratic Party leader, Honorable Raila Odinga in the 2022 general election and were under the Jubilee Party which is affiliated with former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
This has been seen as a political chess by President William Ruto ahead of the 2027 general election. With Kagwe who is from Nyeri County, he is targeting to counter Gachagua, an ally he removed from his administration a few weeks ago.
He now has experts from the Orange democratic Party and jubilee Party. A move that has been seen by many as a plan to strategize his reelection.
