The opposition leader, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is expected in the country on Friday, August 22, 2025. As per his communication team, he will be received at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, then be taken through Nairobi streets where he will address his supporters at the Nairobi Central business district.
Well, interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has announced the only reason that will force police officers to arrest Gachagua at the airport.
According to Kipchumba Murkomen, Gachagua will be arrested if Chaos erupts at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport during his arrival.

Addressing journalists, the interior Cabinet Secretary claimed that security teams are alert and will do everything in making sure the country is secured and the protected area is not taken over by those targeting to receive Gachagua.
” I want to tell those who will not have any meaningful reason to be at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to avoid going there. Any attempt to cause chaos or disrupt the CHAN Tournament will be met with full Force of law. ” Said Kipchumba Murkomen.
