Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has set the record straight on why his party Democracy For The Citizens Party has withdrawn from Mbeere North By Election slotted for November 27, 2025.
Speaking at Democracy For The Citizens Party headquarters in Nairobi. The vibrant opposition leader claimed that they decided to withdraw from Mbeere North by election in favour of the DP party.

This is because the DP party was the one that won the elections in the 2022 general election and therefore, it is important that they let them run the show since they understand the political terrain.
” We have decided to withdraw from Mbeere North By Election. Our opposition brother, Hon. Justin Muturi will lead the campaigns as we support his candidate. We will also support the DAP Kenya Party in the Chwele-Kabichai ward by election. This is an indication of our willingness to sacrifice for a common goal.” Said Gachagua.
