Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has joined thousands of Kenyans in mourning the untimely death of celebrated gospel musician Betty Bayo, who passed away earlier today at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) while receiving treatment for leukemia.
According to the family, Bayo had been admitted to KNH last week after suffering from severe blood loss associated with the disease. Relatives revealed that she had initially been treated at a smaller health facility before being transferred to Kenyatta for specialized care.
“The news of Gospel Musician Betty Bayo’s passing on is truly heartbreaking and devastating to me and the whole nation,” Gachagua said in a heartfelt condolence message shared this afternoon.
He praised Bayo as a gifted artist whose voice and compassion transcended music. “Her remarkable talent and contribution through beautifully crafted lyrics and charity work touched many souls and transformed lives,” he added.
