Embu County governor Her Excellency Cecily Mbarire is under pressure to deliver Mbeere North seat to the United Democratic party, a party that she is serving as national Chairperson. Mbarire has elicited mixed reactions online after alleging what President William Ruto will do to her if she fails to deliver the seat.
According to Mbarire, she is going to be relieved of her duties as the United Democratic party national Chairperson if she fails to deliver the Mbeere North seat which is falling within her jurisdiction. She claimed that if she fails, she will be seen as a person who lost the ground.

She continued by claiming that she does not want to end up like Martha Karua who was Raila’s running mate in the 2022 general election but failed to convince more than one thousand people from her polling station to vote for her.
Mbarire is facing a rough time with the former Deputy President Rigathi who has vowed to send her home in the coming general election. Gachagua and his allies termed her as a traitor who is being used by President William Ruto to divide the region.
