A few days ago, former President Uhuru Kenyatta while attending a function in Murang’a County defended the former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua from the blogger attacks, especially those allied to the Jubilee Party.
He specifically asked Jeremiah Kioni to make sure that it stops immediately. Well, it seems like he will have to go back and rethink that decision.
Well, for about ten years now, former President Uhuru Kenyatta has always been considered as the Mount Kenya region Kingpin. Despite his candidate, the late Orange democratic Party leader Honorable Raila Odinga lost the presidential election to president William Ruto. Uhuru maintained a massive support from the mountain.

This might change according to the video of Gachagua speaking in Mbeere North today. In the video, the former Deputy President declared himself as the regional kingpin and the official spokesperson of the Mount Kenya region.
According to him, he is now the only person allowed to issue directions to the people in Mount Kenya and is going to negotiate on behalf of the region politically.
With this declaration, Uhuru Kenyatta will have to go to the drawing board and make a political game plan before Gachagua outsmarts him and Sends him packing politically. It will be interesting to watch how things are going to play out between Gachagua and Uhuru in the 2027 general election, now that Uhuru is publicly endorsing Matiang’i for the top seat.
