Orange Democratic Party leader Honorable Raila Odinga has been controlling the Nyanza region for decades now. Viewed as the kingpin, he has given directions on who is elected and who should not be reelected in the region.
The region has supported him fully in all the elections he has tried being the President of the republic of Kenya. They came out in large numbers and supported him fully both from 2007-2022. Well, things might not be the same anymore according to the latest video shared online.
According to the video shared online from Kasipul Constituency, Homabay County. The Orange democratic Party leader has been warned not to impose a leader on them in the upcoming by-election.
Kasipul Constituency seat was left vacant after their member of Parliament Honorable Were was assassinated in Nairobi. He was shot by unknown people just around Chiromo Mortuary leaving Kenyans asking questions on the safety of the nation of a legislator can be gunned down publicly.

Well, the residents have asked Odinga to allow them to select their own candidate that will lead them for the remaining term ahead of the 2027 general election.
There are plans to select Ong’ondo Were’s son as the party’s candidate in the by – election. Something that is not sitting well with those allied to Honorable Aroko who has vied for the same seat for a long time and he is seeking an ODM’ ticket.
” We respect Raila Odinga but he should not try his old Tactics here. We will not allow him to impose leaders on us. We have the ability to select the best person for us in Kasipul. He should listen to our grievances, otherwise, it is not going to be business as usual going forward.” Said one of the residents In a video shared online.
