Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has officially announced that his party DCP will not be fielding a candidate in the Mbeere North By Election. Instead, they have decided to support Democratic Party candidates allied to Justin Muturi.
He also announced that, he will be supporting Kalonzo’s wiper candidate in Mbooni by election together with DAP Kenya in Chwele-Kabichai constituency.
Well, what has left Kenyans sympathizing with Kalonzo and Matiang’i is his declaration in the 2027 general election.

According to Gachagua, While speaking at DCP party headquarters. The democracy for the citizens party has withdrawn from others by elections but only in by elections and not the 2027 general election. Gachagua has promised his supporters that come 2027, his party will field candidates In all positions including the Presidency.
” Our members, today we gather here with one message. The message forms a meeting held between opposition teams. We are withdrawing from Mbeere North By Election and Mbooni ward together with Chwele-Kabichai ward by election. However, In the 2027 general election, we will field candidates in all positions.” Said Gachagua.
With this declaration, it means that Matiang’i and Kalonzo will have to support DCP party candidates in 2027 or rather vie on the DCP party ticket.
