At the moment, much of the attention of many African Heads of State and the people at large is on the tight race for the AUC chairperson between Kenya’s Raila Odinga and Djibouti’s Mahmoud Ali Youssouf. Polls have been showing that it is going to be a two horse race between the two leaders who have even been overshadowing current chairman Moussa Faki.
While that is the case, today Moussa Faki was back on the headlines as he publicly sent out a strong statement.
As reported by KTN News through their official X account, Moussa Faki came out publicly as he condemned the killings of South Sudanese civilians in Al Jazirah State, Sudan. According to reports, the AUC chairperson called for speedy investigations.
That statement comes a few weeks to the next election and shows that Faki’s successor will have a lot to do on many departments including the security department in some African countries.
