Atwoli Speaks On Being Deputy President After Gachagua Impeachment

Trade unionist Francis Atwoli has opened up about the possibility of him taking over as the second in command. This was immediately after Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua was impeached by super majority at the Assembly.

Over 280 members of Parliament voted in favor of the motion to impeach him leaving Kenyans asking questions. Only 44 legislators voted to stop his removal but all was in vain.

Through his official X account. He has claimed Luhya community has able valued leaders who can help the president deliver. He claimed he is a trade unionist who is focused on workers affairs currently.

“Those people who are busy peddling rumors under some unknown research document, on who should be considered for DP from Western Kenya, should stop and forget such unprocessed thoughts. The luhyas have known leaders, in government, who represent the community ably. I am a trade unionist, period. And I do not desire any other elective or appointive seat. If there is anything coming for the luhya community we have known political leaders who speak for the community politically and represent us in government. I am just an elder and advisor.” Posted Atwoli.
