Prime Cabinet Secretary Dr. Musalia Mudavadi has opened up on how the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) managed to defeat the United Opposition in the recent Malava Constituency by-election, while also revealing his next political move.
Speaking during an interview with KTN presenter Herman Kamarike, Mudavadi, who also serves as the Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, said the victory in Malava was a clear demonstration that issue-based politics still resonates with voters.
He argued that UDA focused on development agendas and the needs of the people rather than engaging in political attacks and name-calling.
Mudavadi took a swipe at Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya, describing him as “a passing bubble politically.”

He claimed that constant noise and attacks against other leaders do not amount to leadership, insisting that such a style is unsustainable in the long run. According to Mudavadi, voters are increasingly rejecting confrontational politics in favor of leaders who offer solutions.
He maintained that UDA’s disciplined approach and grassroots engagement enabled the party to maintain its dominance in Malava despite stiff competition from the opposition.
Looking ahead, Mudavadi revealed that his next political plan involves identifying and backing a strong candidate to challenge Governor Natembeya in the 2027 general elections.
He expressed confidence that with the right strategy and leadership, Natembeya can be politically defeated and sent home by voters.
