Newly appointed Transport Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir was forced to stop his speech and handover mike to next speaker. According to the video seen online, angry workers refused to listen to him over claims his ministry was collaborating with Adani. They alleged that the ministry failed to involve them fully in their decisions that are now termed impossible to accept.
Jomo Kenyatta International Airport workers shouted down Transport Cabinet Secretary Chirchir. He as forced to handover the microphone to workers leaders to cool them down. His attempt to force them to listen to him failed to materialize.
” I want you to listen to me as I listen to you. We are going to help you and sustain our economy. All the cabinet Secretaries are focused on protecting your interest, let’s listen to them” said Chirchir amid protests.
Well, the workers have called off the Strike after coming to an agreement with the state. They have however, clarified that they have not endorsed Adani group takeover.
The government has been given new demands that must be agreed upon. One of the demands is giving veto power to the workers Union so that no lease agreement will be agreed upon unless they sign it.
