Former President Donald Trump is reported safe following a shooting incident near Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, on Sunday afternoon. The U.S. Secret Service is leading the investigation, with the FBI and local authorities assisting.
According to the Secret Service, the incident occurred around 2 p.m. when a male suspect with a high-powered rifle was spotted near the golf course, where Trump was playing at the time.
Secret Service agents responded swiftly, engaging the suspect by firing multiple shots. The man reportedly attempted to flee but was apprehended soon after.
A weapon has been recovered, and one individual is in custody, though no motive has been established. In a brief statement, Trump campaign communications director Steven Cheung assured the public that the former president was unharmed.

In a swift response, the White House confirmed that both President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were briefed on the situation. The White House expressed relief over Trump’s safety.
“The President and Vice President have been briefed about the security incident at the Trump International Golf Course, where former President Trump was golfing. They are relieved to know that he is safe,” a White House statement said.
Vice President Harris echoed the sentiment, posting on X (formerly Twitter), “I am glad he is safe. Violence has no place in America.”Trump Addresses SupportersShortly after the incident, Trump issued a fundraising email to supporters, reassuring them of his safety.
“There were gunshots in my vicinity, but before rumors start spiraling out of control, I wanted you to hear this first: I AM SAFE AND WELL,” he wrote.
The email also hinted at his continued resolve to stay active in the political arena, despite the dangers he faces.Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), a close ally of Trump, took to X to express support.
“I just spoke with President Trump. He is in good spirits and more resolved than ever to save our country. He is one of the strongest people I’ve ever known,” Graham said.
Incident Follows Earlier ThreatThe shooting marks the second serious threat against Trump in recent months. In July, a man attempted to assassinate Trump at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
During that incident, Trump was grazed in the ear by a bullet, though one attendee was killed and two others were injured.
