Kenya has been hitting world headlines for a week now over massive protests.
The world has been witnessing youths on the streets taking on police officers in a dramatic ways.
The elephant in the room is 2024 financial bill which they are terming it punitive and only beneficial to those in powerful positions.
Despite president William Ruto’s move to drop the bill in totality. Kenyans are still in the streets demanding more from him.
A section of them are demanding he resigns from office, while others are asking he fight corruption and jail those found guilty even if they’re his friends.
Well, Mombasa governor, Nessir Sheriff who was elected on Orange Democratic party has warned leaders over the protests.
Speaking in a video shared on his X account. He asked leaders to listen to youths who are airing out their issues before things get out of hand.
” It’s now time to listen to the youths. We must act now and act fast if we need peace in the country” said Nessir.
He continued by asking youths to be tolerant and demonstrate without breaking people properties and looting them all together.
