Mudavadi Sets Record Straight On Government Selling JKIA After Public Outrage

Prime Cabinet Secretary, Musalia Mudavadi has set record straight on government selling Jomo Kenyatta International Airport after public outrage.

In a video shared online on his X account. He has denied those claims stating that, it was outrageous for Kenyans to insinuate that the airport was sold.

” Let me make it clear here today. Kenya is not selling the airport as claimed. If such thing happens, public participation will be vital and parliament will be involved to follow all legal channels” clarified Musalia.

Few weeks ago, there was a public outrage over claims that the government was in the process of leasing the airport to an Indian company.

The deal was to see the agency renovate the airport and run it for 30 years and own 18% of it for life after that. This allegations were made by a Kenyan journalist based in France.

The claims triggered Kisii senator, Onyonka to write to the Senate committee demanding answers from the ministry of transport and the airport authority.

Kenyan youths have vowed to defend their country through public scrutiny in all sectors. Today on Tuesday, July 23. They’re assembling at the airport in what they term “occupyJKIA” in an attempt to make their grievances listened to.
