The abductions. A topic that is currently trending in Kenya for almost two weeks now. People are picked from their homes, tortured and others killed by people allegedly from the government.
Political leaders, religious leaders and political activists are now demanding for a statement from President William Ruto on the urgent matter. The head of State has not spoken on the issue leaving more speculations on what is happening.
Those picked are accused of attacking the President online. The youthful activists were abducted for posting pictures of the president in unpresentable poses.
Well, Chief Justice Martha Koome has issued a statement to Kenyans and a message to the government of the day.

Koome has condemned the abductions. She has also asked those involved to produce the abducted ones to the court of law and not infringe their rights.
“The Judiciary has taken note of recent reports of resurfaced abductions. Kenya is a constitutional democracy, where the rule of law stands as a foundational value and guiding principle of our governance. Abductions have no place in law and indeed are a direct threat to the rights of citizens. In light of these reports, we strongly urge security agencies and all connected entities to adhere to the law to safeguard fundamental rights and freedoms.” Posted Judiciary.
