Kalonzo Musyoka Responds to President William Ruto’s Comments on Protesters
Nairobi, July 21, 2024 — Kalonzo Musyoka, addressing the press today, vehemently defended the right of Generation Z to protest, following President William Ruto’s recent remarks labeling protesters as anarchists attempting to overthrow the government.
Musyoka emphasized that the youth are exercising their constitutional rights and are not engaging in unlawful activities.”
The protesters are not armed; they are advocating for quality leadership and governance. There are no anarchists among them. They are absolutely constitutional. We must all uphold the rule of law,” Musyoka stated.
Challenging Ruto’s characterization of the protesters, Musyoka questioned, “How can you say that a young lady, a young man, armed with a bottle of water and a phone is an anarchist?”
Kalonzo praised Generation Z for their courage and commitment to change, saying, “I don’t know how to thank Gen Zs. They have really liberated this country forever.”
