President Uhuru Kenyatta had one of the best cabinet in Kenyan history. His administration had no nonsense men who were determined to make the system work for the people of Kenya.
He had academic oriented men like the late Professor George Magoha and Dr. Fred Matiang’i. The duo managed to change education system drastically leading to praises from Kenyans.
After President William Ruto took over. The duo were let go. Unfortunately, Magoha passed on while Matiang’i transitioned to private life. A man who was known for keeping law and order as interior Cabinet Secretary. He used to take on who is who in Kenya without fear.
Well, it seems he has other ambitions too. In a interview Shared online. The once powerful cabinet Secretary opened up about life after cabinet. He claimed he has enjoyed a quite life away from politics that has made him discover more things.
In an interview with Joe Ageyo. The former cabinet Secretary claimed that he is not yet planning to run for the top seat. However, he hinted that he has some deferred some ambitions that he is planning to work on it someday.
“You know Joe, it is good that you have said people are asking me to run for the top seat. Right now I’m focusing on other things but when the right time comes. I will reveal my ambitions.” Said Matiang’i.
When asked why he did not run for president in 2022 general election. He claimed that sometimes you need to shelve your ambitions in order to serve where appointed.
I did not run for president in 2022 because I was serving in a different capacity. I was serving Kenyans at that time. And I am glad I was given an opportunity to Serve Kenyans.” Said Matiang’i.
