Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is missing in action at the Senate. According to the statement given by Senate Speaker Amason Kingi, the Deputy President of the republic of Kenya is not at the Senate as expected and rather he has not taken the floor of the house as expected.
He is supposed to present himself as a sole witness in the impeachment motion. Amason Kingi has given directives on what is supposed to follow stating.
Speaker Kingi asked Gachagua attorneys to produce him before the senate in two hours time . He has been asked to appear for cross-examination by national assembly lawyers.
Charges.
Gachagua is facing 11 charges as grounds for impeachment motion and Kenyans have been following keenly on the progress. He is accused of sabotaging the government projects and appointing authority who is the president. He is also accused of being tribalistic by championing for the people of Mount Kenya region despite him being the second in command.
Gachagua is also accused of syphoning public resources through proxies and family members. He is accused of buying various properties amounting to over 5.2 billion shillings.
Also accused of threatening and intimidating public officers in the case of kemsa tender. It is alleged that he called the acting KEMSA CEO on behalf of his son for a tendering process.
