Bad News For Judge Mugambi After Jailing Masengeli As Detail Emerges Of What Has Happened

High Court Judge Lawrence Mugambi is in trouble just days after sentencing acting inspector general of Police Gilbert Masengeli to six months in jail. According to the judge, it was necessary to take such action after Masengeli failed to appear before the courts seven times.

Masengeli missed a chance to explain how Kenyans were abducted from their homes and have been missing for weeks now. It was alleged that their crime was taking part in youths protests in Kitengela.

According to reports. The security detail was withdrawn in relation to his judgement. His decision to sentence acting inspector general of Police Gilbert Masengeli has elicited mixed reaction.

Chief Justice Martha Koome Statement

Chief Justice Martha Koome condemned the decision of police to withdraw security detail attached to the judge. According to her, it is not a privilege to allocate security detail to judges. It is in the constitution of Kenya.

She has gone ahead to ask for more protection to the judges who are doing everything to make sure that justice is delivered to Kenyans.

Well, several Kenyans have condemned Police officers insisting that it was sad for the frustration that are being witnessed. Some claimed it was just purely intimidation by officers for the jailing of their boss.
