In recent days, Gen Z have been causing tension and panic in the country. They have been demonstrating and protesting, a move that has been causing chaos and destruction in the country due to different reasons like, corruption, high cost of living, lack of employment opportunities among others. The Gen Z have been seeing many leaders as their enemies and thus, they have been calling for their removal from office.
One of the leaders who has been facing pressure from the Gen Z is Aden Duale. It even forced President William Ruto to shift Duale from the Defense Ministry to Environment Ministry but as things seem to be, the new Environment, Climate Change and Forestry CS is keen on impressing his haters and turn them into his lovers.
That is because today through his official X account, he confirmed that he presided over a serious climate initiative. According to Duale, the program aims to engage over 13,000 youth in Nairobi County. The popular CS went on to say that the youth, many of which may be the Gen Z will be mandated to clean up the Nairobi, Ngong and Mathare Rivers.
Apart from just cleaning the Rivers, the workforce will also support tree planting efforts to strengthen climate resilience in Nairobi. That is in line with the 15 Billion National Tree Growing Programme, waste management, roads, improve sanitation, landscaping of riparian corridor and Ecosystem restoration.
To many Gen who are jobless, that is good news as it will present them with an opportunity to get a job. Definitely, they will be able to put a meal for themselves on the table.
