Finance Cabinet Secretay John Mbadi has been on the receiving end after he openly showed his discomfort working with the vote rich Mt Kenya region politicians.
Hon Mbadi became the Finance Cabinet Secretay when the late Hon Raila Odinga decided to work with President Dr William Samoei Arap Ruto & formed the Broadbased government.
Prominent lawyer Donald Kipkorir has launched a scathing attack against National Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi, demanding his immediate removal from the Cabinet over alleged tribal rhetoric.
The outspoken lawyer expressed deep disappointment that the Finance Minister remains in office despite accusations of promoting ethnic division.
According to Kipkorir, the minister’s public utterances, particularly when addressing regional gatherings in Dholuo, consistently focus on political exclusion targeting the Kikuyu community rather than delivering economic policy solutions.
He questioned the inaction of key oversight institutions, calling out the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), and the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) for failing to summon or investigate the Cabinet Secretary over his village address remarks.
Kipkorir insisted that holding a senior national executive position requires a commitment to serving all citizens regardless of ethnic background.
He argued that a minister who actively preaches ethnic hatred and targets specific communities forfeits the moral authority to serve in government.
The continuous push for sectarian politics, the lawyer contended, undermines national unity and sets a dangerous precedent within public leadership.
The remarks have ignited fresh political debate across the country, raising urgent questions regarding national cohesion, Cabinet accountability, and the role of investigative agencies in curbing hate speech by high-ranking state officials.
As public pressure mounts, all eyes remain on the relevant oversight bodies to see whether formal action will be taken regarding the complaints leveled against the Finance Minister.
