National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula has finally broken his silence following widespread claims that he had been admitted to hospital, rumours that have dominated social media platforms for the past two days.
The speculation sparked concern among Kenyans and prompted intense online debate over the Speaker’s health and whereabouts.
In a swift response, Wetangula took to his official Facebook page to dismiss the claims, assuring the public that he is alive, well, and actively engaged in parliamentary duties.
He termed the reports as false and misleading, urging Kenyans to ignore what he described as baseless rumours designed to cause unnecessary panic.
According to the Speaker, he is currently in Naivasha attending a National Assembly retreat alongside Members of Parliament.

The retreat is focused on discussing key legislative and administrative issues affecting the National Assembly, as well as setting priorities for the upcoming parliamentary sessions.
Wetangula further emphasized that there was no cause for alarm, noting that he has not been admitted to any hospital and continues to carry out his responsibilities as required by his office.
A video accompanying his statement has since circulated online, reinforcing his clarification and calming public concern.
The clarification has put to rest the speculation, with many leaders and citizens welcoming the Speaker’s direct response and calling for responsible sharing of information, especially on matters touching on leaders’ health.
