**Natembeya Explains Ruto’s Hostility, Cites Loss of Luhya Support**

**KITALE, Kenya** — Trans Nzoia County Governor George Natembeya has accused President
William Ruto of waging a political war against him after realizing that the Western
region’s electorate has shifted away from the ruling coalition.

Speaking to members of the press at his office in Trans Nzoia, the county chief 
addressed the escalating tensions between his administration and the national executive.
Natembeya claimed that the President’s political hostility stems from frustration
over changing political dynamics in the vote-rich Luhya region.

According to Governor Natembeya, the Head of State had anticipated retaining firm
control over the Western vote in upcoming general elections.

 However, Natembeya noted that key political realignments—including the entry of
prominent leaders like Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna into regional politics—have 
disrupted the President’s strategy, triggering visible political bitterness from
the executive branch.

“Ruto expected to win over the Luhya region votes, but with the entrance of Edwin
Sifuna into the race, his plans have been completely scattered, hence the bitterness,”
Natembeya asserted during the media brief.

The Governor pointed to recent disputes over county-funded infrastructure—including
the controversial launch and stall allocation of a county market in Trans Nzoia—
as evidence of targeted interference by the national government.

He maintained that the market facility was initiated and completed by the county
government to support local traders, accusing the state of attempting to hijack 
local projects for political leverage.

Despite mounting political pressure and state opposition, Natembeya stood firm, 
declaring that no form of intimidation or political arm-twisting would deter him
from defending the rights of his county’s constituents or expressing his political
stance.
