# Video: Kindiki Pulls Unexpected Move in Mount Kenya as Gachagua Is in USA, Kenyans Praise Him

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has attracted attention online after making an
unexpected move during an event in the Mount Kenya region, sparking fresh political
debate over his growing influence in the region.

A video circulating on social media shows Kindiki stepping away from his vehicle
and security detail before joining women in a dance at the event. The moment has
attracted reactions from Kenyans, with some praising the Deputy President for interacting
freely with ordinary citizens.

The incident comes as former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua remains in the United
States, creating an opportunity for political observers to discuss the ongoing competition
for influence in the Mount Kenya region.

Kindiki, who hails from Tharaka-Nithi County, has increasingly been viewed as a
key political figure in the region, where leaders are seeking to consolidate support
ahead of the 2027 General Election.

His decision to abandon the comfort of his vehicle and join the women dancing has
been interpreted by some supporters as a calculated move to connect with the grassroots.

For some political observers, such public interactions could help Kindiki strengthen
his relationship with residents, particularly those who value leaders who engage
directly with the electorate.

However, it remains unclear whether the viral moment will translate into significant
political gains for the Deputy President. Political support in Mount Kenya depends
on several factors, including local leadership networks, public concerns and the
broader national political climate.

Meanwhile, Gachagua continues to command attention among his supporters, making
the contest for political influence in the region an important development to watch.

The latest incident has nevertheless placed Kindiki in the spotlight, with Kenyans
sharing mixed reactions to his dancing moment.

As the 2027 elections approach, both leaders could face growing pressure to demonstrate
their popularity and maintain strong connections with voters across Mount Kenya.

Whether Kindiki’s latest public appearance marks the beginning of a broader political
breakthrough remains to be seen.
