# Video: Kalonzo Musyoka Sends Warning to Ruto Over Natembeya’s Fate

Former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka has warned President William Ruto against
allegedly targeting Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya and other opposition leaders.

Kalonzo issued the warning while addressing Kenyans in Mwingi, where he expressed
concern over the treatment of opposition figures amid rising political tensions.

The Wiper Democratic Movement leader also offered to represent Natembeya in court
should the governor face arrest or legal action.

## Kalonzo Questions Ruto Over Natembeya’s Fate

Kalonzo challenged Ruto to clarify his intentions toward opposition leaders, particularly
following remarks the President reportedly made in Iten.

According to Kalonzo, the President should explain what he meant when he suggested
that opposition leaders could encounter accidents if they continued frustrating
his administration.

The former Vice President warned against statements that could be interpreted as
threats against political opponents.

He maintained that opposition leaders should be allowed to exercise their democratic
rights without fear of intimidation or persecution.

## Ruto’s Trans Nzoia Visit Sparks Political Debate

Kalonzo’s remarks came a day after Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza administration allies
visited Trans Nzoia County to launch and commission development projects.

The visit has sparked controversy, with Natembeya questioning the ownership and
management of some projects that he claims fall under the county government’s responsibilities.

The disagreement has further intensified the political differences between the governor
and the national administration.

Natembeya has recently faced additional political pressure following the withdrawal
of security officers assigned to him, an issue that has attracted attention from
opposition leaders.

## Opposition Leaders Rally Behind Natembeya

Kalonzo’s intervention signals growing concern among opposition leaders over Natembeya’s
political situation.

By offering legal representation, the former Vice President has positioned himself
alongside the governor as the dispute with the national government continues.

However, the alleged plans to arrest Natembeya remain unconfirmed based on the information
available.

Kalonzo’s demand for clarification now places pressure on Ruto to address concerns
surrounding his remarks and relations with opposition leaders.

The unfolding dispute is likely to keep Trans Nzoia at the centre of Kenya’s political
debate as opposition figures continue challenging the government.
